Thai Bodywork is a wonderful modality for most people. It can be used either as a whole body session or to hone in on specific issues. Below is a non-exhaustive list of some common benefits:

  • Reduces pain and excessive tension or tightness

  • Increases flexibility and range of motion through passive stretching and joint mobilization

  • Balances the nervous system to relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression

  • Improves muscle health through compression and point work

  • Improves digestion (bloating, constipation, sluggish digestion) through abdominal bodywork

  • Supports healthy menstruation (preventing/alleviating cramps and low back pain) through abdominal bodywork

  • Promotes circulation of blood and lymph

Mental Health Benefits of Thai Bodywork

Traditional Thai Bodywork is strongly rooted in a Buddhist spiritual tradition which holds the practitioner to standards of non-violence and non-judgment (ahimsa) and loving kindness (metta). Because our nervous systems attune to one another, this mentality of the practitioner offers direct benefit to the client, even without speaking about it. People of all religions (or no religion) and belief systems are welcome.

Because emotions are experienced and expressed through our bodies, we can use Thai Bodywork to balance them. Some people like to verbally process their emotions with us as we do the bodywork, and others do not. We are happy to meet you right where you are. What Does a Session Look Like?

We’ll begin with a thorough intake to understand your body history, conditions, and reasons for seeking Thai Bodywork. Because healing is never one-size-fits-all, or even one-size-fits-the-way-it-did-yesterday, we then craft each and every session to your needs and goals. Thai Bodywork is traditionally done with the client fully dressed in comfortable, stretchy clothing while lying on a big comfy floor mat. Clients may be worked with in prone, supine, side-lying and seated positions depending on what body areas need to be addressed in the session. Pressure is adjusted based on client preference and layer of the body being targeted.

How Often Should I Come in?

For long-standing or complex issues, aim to come in every 1-2 weeks at the start. As symptoms improve, we can adjust our cadence. For general wellness or maintenance, most people come in every 1-4 weeks.

 
  • 65 min - $220 (returning clients only)

    90min - $270 (new or returning clients)

    120 min **includes a combination of bodywork, Physiyoga and/or Somatic Experiencing® - $325 (new or returning clients)

    Breathwork - 25 min $75

    • Breath is the foundation of good health. Includes breathing assessment and various pranayama and modern breathwork practices to bring balance to the structural and nervous system components of breath.

    Physiyoga - 25 min $75

    • Supports longevity, optimizes athletic performance and injury treatment/prevention. Includes movement assessment and tailored corrective exercises to restore anatomical function in everyday life and in the exercises we enjoy. You will not get this personalized attention on Youtube or Instagram!

    Restorative Yoga - 25 min $75

    • Offers deep rest and reset for the nervous system through passive, comfortable, long-held yoga poses using the support of props, hand on-assists and skilled verbal cueing. Wonderful for chronic tension, stress, or feeling burnt out!

    Custom Yoga Flow - 25 min $75

    • Many people know they "need to do yoga" but have trouble knowing which poses to do, how to perform the poses correctly, and when to carve out space for it within their busy schedules. Why not feed two birds with one hand and move through a yoga flow that's customized to you during your Thai Bodywork appointment?
